Come and check out the new exhibition at the French Cheese Board!
Ever heard of ‘tyrosemiophilia’? It is the hobby of collecting cheese labels (étiquettes, in French). We hope to share this affliction through exhibiting a couple of examples among the 227,703 label designs encompassed in the world’s largest collection. These small pieces of paper may seem anecdotal, yet, they are full of history. They were the first colored labels intended to be discarded immediately. Their illustration have always been a topic of conversation to families everywhere. In this exhibition, you will discover a small hidden part of French heritage which includes many labels that have since vanished.
All labels presented on this exhibit are from a private collection belonging to M.Besnier, the founder of Lactalis, the largest International cheese producer in the world. To see more, visit Lactopole in Laval, France.Share:
