We had our Fancy Food Show event on June 24th for the French cheese industry at the gorgeous space of the Hudson Mercantile near the Jacob Javitz Center. The fromage display was created by fromager, Francois Robin of France and with the help of Joe Ciardullo of C’est Cheese Port Jefferson.
There were over 60 cheeses from all over France represented on a stunning white table to capture the elegance and array of fromages available for everyone. From hard to soft to bloomy rind to washed rind to blues, you could find a cheese you’d like and then some.
In addition, the event included the annual Guilde des Fromagers ceremony where the inducted new members to join and gave them a medal to signify they are an integral part of the cheese industry.
From a Comté lollipop station where people could dip pieces of it in different toppings to the stacks of enormous Salers, there was no shortage of fromage and to go along with it were accoutrements such as nuts, fresh and dried fruits, and of course, wine and champagne to celebrate the occasion.
