On Tuesday, 8/27, the French Cheese Board invited PureWow to a very special Fromage pairing event.
The event started with a presentation of the French Cheese Board before starting tasting all the delicious products ! Charles Duque, CNIEL Managing Director – Americas, lead the pairing.
The famous triple cream Brillat Savarin was paired with Brut Rosé. The creaminess and lactic taste of the cheese pairs beautifully with fresh and light wines.
The aged Comté was associated with Chardonnay. Comté and fruits is always a great idea and the frutiness of Chardonnay was perfect with the butterness of this 24 months Comté.
The third combination was a little stronger with a Camembert and the Red Wine PDO wine Côtes-du-Rhône. The earthy aroma of this Normand cheese is best paired with red wines.
Last but not least, the final pairing included Fourme d’Ambert, Epoisses and Sauternes. Sauternes is a very sweet cheese that helps creating a magnifique equilibrium with strong cheeses like Blue or pungent cheeses like Epoisses.
