Grand Opening

On June 30, The Cheeses of France Marketing Council officially debuted its first international event space – the French Cheese Board – located in Midtown Manhattan. The event, which took place during the New York Summer Fancy Food Show attracted select media and trade to experience the space first-hand while sampling extraordinary French cheese and wines.

The evening included a photo exhibit called Les Filles à Fromage, showcasing sexy ladies who love cheese, an appearance by former Top Chef contestant Camille Becerra, and two official ceremonies: one from the Guilde des Fromagers, where twelve select individuals were inducted into the exclusive brotherhood of master fromagers, cheesemongers and cheese specialists, and the other, “L’Ordre du Mérite Agricole” (the Agricultural Merit Award) Ceremony, where two industry leaders received a medal bestowed by the French government for their contributions in the advancement of French agricultural products aborad.

With the support of the European Union, CNIEL (The French Dairy Inter-Branch Organization, whose mission is to promote cheeses of France world-wide) also introduced their new marketing and communications campaign- MAKE IT MAGNIFIQUE – as well as the new Cheeses of Europe website:

In addition, attendees had the opportunity to interact with representatives from the Cheeses of France Marketing Council, and to take part in a professional photo shoot inspired by the Filles à Fromage exhibit.
